It's a great car, obviously. But, DO take it out on a highway test drive ...on a windy day... See how you feel about it then. I went from a Smart Fortwo to the '10 Insight.. and to be honest I felt that the smart car was more stable!

quite helpful.. thank you for the info. now for the 'Sports' mode. can someone explain the diffeence between sports and drive modes? how about the shift paddles? I understand shifting goes up to 7 when paddles are used? is this true for 'Sports' mode as well without using paddles?

In sport mode, you will have control over the CVT through the steering wheel paddles, which will "fake" 7 speeds. It's still a CVT though, so it's not real gear shifting. But it makes it fun time to time...
