Got email from dealer: Time for service?

I've only had my Insight about 3 months and I'm at 70% on the oil minder. Car has about 3700 miles on it. Given this, I don't see that it needs an oil change. I get an email from the dealer saying it's almost time for recommended service interval, at 3,750 or three months, whichever is sooner.

Anyone else get such a letter or email? Doesn't seem to mesh with the service recommendations in the manual or the MID.

Do I need to take my car in? Or should I ignore it and wait til my oil minder is nearer 10-15%?

I get that email too. It's an automatic thing if you gave your address to the dealer. Kinda useless since it has no clue how to be in sync with your actual mileage. No worry, just wait for the MID minder to tell you it's time for oil change (you will have a message at 15% left).

Follow the MID. I've said it in other posts, my salesperson whispered in my ear that I should only change my oil when the Insight told me and to ignore the 3k interval sticker the service department added to my windshield.
