JP, your week-end story is very interesting and a Candy to read (I want more, more, more )
Few things I realized also, for the Pulse & Glide, with the I2, I use pretty much the same Pulse technique as you describe and practiced with Wayne. I bring the rev to about 1800RPM, but for the glide, instead of complete FAS, I lift my foot keeping just a very little pressure. It pushes the mpg in the 90's even 100's for long stretches. In my case, it might be more "compatible" with my driving style as I like to keep a more stable speed for longer distances, instead of constant acceleration/deceleration. I'm not sure which P&G technique is the ultimate (I would tend to say the one Wayne teach... due to his experience), but my last 4 tanks averaged over 60mpg, and the current one will probably hit above 63mpg (MID currently shows 66.7mpg). This equals to flirting with 600miles per tank all the time. May be you can try this P&G technique as well and confirm if it's worst/equal/better.
2 easy mod I did to the car (I would call this also part of the hypermiling strategy) : I run Mobil1 0w20. I might be dreaming, but I do think it makes a mpg difference, and I run 48psi in the tires. This one definitely makes a good mpg difference, but it’s at my own risk... and the ride is obviously a little rougher

You've got me jealous! That sweet-spot glide is what I'm hoping to nail down the next couple times I'm behind the wheel of the Insight.
I've got my tires up to 40, at the moment, and will bring them up closer to yours. The maintenance guys at the dealer keep dropping them every time I go for an oil change...

Thanks. Here is my first attempt going 25-35. I would wait til I am at the top of a hill before I started up and drove off. YouTube - pulse n glide
I got 83mpg over ten miles. If it was cooler and day time I am sure I could have beatened it. I think going 35-45 works better. I doubt Id use this on any main roads, but defininately on the back roads.
Near the end as soon as I gassed it, it went right into regen.

JP, one question : In your CR-Z trial, were you able to confirm (or talk about it with Wayne) if there is, or there not a lean burn capability on the CR-Z ?
