is 2nd Gen Insight available with manual transmission?

I own a 5spd 2000 insight and love it, gonna keep it and get a 2010 to fit the whole family, but only if its available in a 5spd manual. Anyone know? Anyone know of any other hybrid makes/models in a manual tranny? thanks!!!

The new Insight does not have a manual transmission option. Currently, the only hybrid available for purchase with a MT is the CR-Z (6spd)... and that's not going to fit any more of your family than your 2000 MY Insight.

If an older car isn't out of the question you might consider a first generation Civic Hybrid 5MT -- those use lean burn just like your Insight and will return better mileage than the new Insight will if driven carefully. They were produced from 2003-2005. The manual transmission option was dropped for the current generation Civic Hybrid.

The i2 uses lots of parts from the Fit. If you wanted to do a conversion Id starts there.
