In heavy bumper to bumber traffic in the LA area we are getting close to 46mpg in the I2. Overall we are getting between 49 to 51 mpg in combined freeway, urban and mountain road trips (from Santa Clarita, to Santa Monica, up to Malibu, over the Santa Monica Mountains, to San Fernando Valley back to Santa Clarita). Our highest mpg occured going from Santa Clarita to West La by freeway - 72mpg at 65 mph. On the return trip we hit (uphill) we get 45 mpg. Going out to Ventura, we average 50mpg there and back. Of course mpg depends on driving technique and status of AC (really cranking up the AC on hot 100F+ days really burns gas).
