Default Insight sales up BIG in March 2011

Honda Media Newsroom - Headlines - American Honda March Sales Up 18.9 Percent

Too bad they have to cut off orders; hope that doesn't halt the momentum...

Likewise, I purchased mine mid-March. Please note that for the Insight hybrid model, sales were up 62.2% (the 18.9% is Honda America overall). "Honda hybrids also posted strong sales, with the Insight up 62.2 percent on record March sales of 2,782."

Same here. I purchased mine at the end of march. So far I'm very happy with it.
After 900 miles I'm averaging 42mpgs.

I got mine in late March as well. I wasn't supposed to get it until the end of April, but in fear of a price climb due to the disaster in Japan and the vehicle becoming more popular I purchased it earlier than I had anticipated.

I'm so glad I did, too. I found a dealership that had only one Insight left on their lot (2011 PMM EX w/Nav - coincidentally it was the exact model/color that I wanted) and they were trying to get rid of it for $21K +tax/license. So I took the deal and pressured them enough to giving in to getting me .9% APR. I couldn't have bought at a more perfect time!

I'm in CA and the dealership was in the high desert, so I could see why they had such a hard time selling it. They don't get very much business from people south of the mountain, but the 45min drive was well worth it.

21k is a pretty sweet deal. I paid 1700 more. Nice find.

This is encouraging news. Thanks very much for sharing!

42-45 mpg is good. EPA rating is 43. The vehicle is easily capable of 50 mpg+, and it may be worthwhile to take on the challenge of achieving it. There are lots and lots of tips and infomative discussion all over insightcentral. Enjoy! (Blue Bird (Honda Insight) | Fuelly)

Pretty good, but keep in mind mine came with nav. That's why it's a bit more expensive than yours. The true market value of the car in my area is $22,400. I got it for a grand cheaper and for almost $500 under invoice
