Default New Owner!! 2010 Insight - BLACK!!

Just got our 2010 Honda Insight this past week. We love the care so far and hope to get some good info here as well as give some. My first MOD will be adding a BLUETOOTH device to the car for hands free cell phone. I just purchased the ADVENT Universal w/honda switch today and I hope to get some pictures done as I do the install. I have not seen any here yet but I think for $120 and some change it is a great addition to this car. Anyone who has already done this addition please let me know!!

I am also wanting to replace the Turn Signal Lamps in the door to BLUE LED's to match the blue on the headlamps. Not sure what it would look like but gonna try first. Anyone know the easy way to get to those lamps???

Again.. I love forums as I am very involved with my Jaguar Forums as my other car is a 99 XK8.

Thanks again.. hope to help everyone out and get help when needed!!!

Welcome aboard. I think blacking it out would look best. I started my project as I have a red pearl model. I blacked out the front bumper and grill, tinted all turn signals and reverse lamps, windows and installed the visiors.

Dont think blue is legal and when I get a chance I am going to remove, crack open the head lamps and black them out except for the reflector surface for the highs and orange reflector.

Welcome aboard. Congrats on the new black I2. It is intuitively obvious to the casual observer that black makes the most beautiful Insight.

Welcome to the site. I also thought that the Bluetooth should be the first upgrade. I went with a double din JVC stereo. Just installed it and everything seems to work great. It's very convenient.

I saw a solar powered one you stick to your windshield. It was soo tempting you know being green and all, but I already had the ear piece.

Well i finally have the product in and ready to install. Took a while to find someone who had it in stock. Then the Tornado hit!! So now I am ready to go. However, does anyone have a wire color code for the harness off of the radio??? I have attempted to search the forums for this but can't find anything that i can work with. Just need to know what color goes to what device or speaker. I will hopefully post pics as i get the install done.

Thanks

My car had one made by Parrot already installed. They tacked $500 onto the sticker. When I told them to remove it, they said they would throw it in for free.

The dealer had it completely installed wrong (and I'm sure wrong on all the other cars on the lot) They went cheapo and didn't buy the necessary wiring harness for $17. I researched it and bought the harness, had them install it, complained and they gave me $300 in credit for my trouble.

Good luck with yours.

How do you like the parrot bluetooth? Which model do you have?

It's not made anymore but it's kind of like the 9200. I wish it was the one that streamed the music from my iPhone wirelessly.

It works pretty good. After installing the correct wiring harness, I now have all the speakers working instead of just the left side.
