Went with the EX for the cruise control. It ought to be illegal to sell a car without cruise control. Very much enjoy the USB and the other amenities. IMO, the EX is the way to go. If I had gone with the LX I would always wish I hadn't.

Default please stick to the point?

I wanted personal opinion on the 2011 options for the LX. Yes the 2011 LX does have cruise control USB and stability control. So now, what do the people who drive the EX feel about the other features other than the ones listed above? How useful are those features?

Thanks.

I ended up getting an 2011 LX as I, like you, was not that concerned about the alloy wheels, which seemed to account for a significant amount of the price difference. The Cruise Control & USB were important to me - and as you indicated the LX has them.

The things I sort of miss that my prior car had were the steering wheel mounted audio controls + map lights. I'll figure something out in terms of an inexpensive clip-on flash light to use in lieu of the map light and deal with audio controls where they are. As for the non-lit vanity mirrors of the EX, I never use them (but I did purchase a passenger side EX visor with mirror from Bernardi Honda and replaced it in under 5 minutes).

Default New owner!

Well, I did it. I bought an EX! I got a low quote for an LX, but the offer they made for EX was just too good to refuse. Plus it was the color I wanted.

So here I am friends, owner for 2011 EX metallic. I look forward to perfecting the hypermiling techniques ...

Congrats on your purchase. I have almost always regretted it when I did not buy the top of the line version of whatever car I was buying.

That radio aint 160 watts, maybe it can consume that, but it doesnt output it.
I went for the EX w/o the nav system as I can get a much better GPS for a lot less money than the system in the Insight. The EX trim package results, IMO, is a much, much better vehicle than the stripped down LX version.

Congrats on your purchase! We went with a graphite on black LX about a month ago. The only option on the EX we wanted were the audio controls on the steering wheel so it wasn't worth the extra money. The steel wheels are better for my wife as she admittedly curbs and ruins alloys. The LX in 2011 is now the mid-level model and not very stripped down. They now offer a base, LX, and EX. As stated, the 2011 LX has cruise control and traction control. We went from an 05 Honda Odyssey Touring to this, so even the EX pales in comparison to the options of that Odyssey! 1400 miles on the Insight right now, and it is showing 45 mpg average
