If your FIT is the "sport" you have paddle shifters.
Darn near the same as a "stick".

Consider also lower tax and insurance cost(if you pay them) for keeping the 2007 model. Also the Civic has slightly more room?

Honestly, I rarely use the paddle shifter on my Fit. I just don't really like it too much and I rather leave it in auto and let the car to pick which gear. It seems like gas mileage is better.

I have decided to make this thread more interesting, here are some pictures...

I am hoping the next generation for the Insight can be much better. People are right ... it doesn't make sense to purchase a new car just to trade the Fit just for better gas mileage. In here, I like to thanks for everyone comments and wish you all enjoy reading my thread. I am happy to post up more pictures in near future if anyone can give a shout here with more comments and suggestions!

Yeah it really doesn't make sense, unless the owner really just wanted to only have cars that were covered by B2B warranties.

Haha, the only paddle shifters that are remotely close to being as awesome as a stick are those that come with DSG transmissions and Ferraris!

My intension is to replace my Si with Insight because my Si is only getting 20 MPG in city driving. On the other hand, I still want something that is manual. Sorry for the confusion, guys!

Besides your CVT vs. manual issue, you need to run the numbers since it sounds like this is a financially driven decision for you. How many city miles do you drive per year? This value can take you through the whole range of one car making more financial sense than the other and vice versa, since you already own the less fuel efficient vehicle and it has allot of good years left in it.

It doesn't help that it'll be tougher to find the deal you want right now. People are rushing to buy fuel efficient cars right now and at the same time production is slowed due to the tsunami. Basically inventory is way down and not improving yet. For this reason you're probably also less likely to get good financing incentives too but I'm just guessing about that. And at the same time demand is not going to be as strong for your Si as it was even a few months ago, so you're not going to get as good of an offer from trade-ins or private sale.

Don't be surprised if it makes the most financial sense to hang onto your current cars and have you drive the Fit since your wife doesn't drive much?
