Default I Just Armor All'ed My Interior

I just finished armor all'ing the interior and it looks great .... it took longer than i expected but only because there is plastic lurking around every corner ... the dash in particular drank it up and really pops now ... i'm hoping it will add an extra layer of protection when i go back to the lone star state and its baking in the sun

If you are talking about sun damage I always found that a nice dark window tint always seemed to do the trick. I have had anywhere from limo all the way around to medium on the front 2 and dark all the way around and have never had sun damage to my seats before. I know that Honda makes a sunshade specifically for the HUGE Insight windshield and I do not regret purchasing it at all.

Hope your not using petroleum-based products. Those are harmful to plastics.

I've always heard Armor all is harmful to anything but tires.

Armor All is horrible stuff. Long term use will ruin the dash, it causes it to get really soft...just degrades the plastic and vinyl. I won't use it.

When I recently detailed my Insight on Sunday, I just used my dampened micro-fiber towel to dust off the dashboard. Worked well..............
Not as shiny and glossy as the Armorall stuff, but much better for the dash.

i'm sure long term use isn't good but like anything its OK to use in moderation -- that's one reason i never trust those studies that give lab mice cancer after 1000x the normal human intake of substance X .... i bet if you polled people who actually experienced their dash dematerializing in front of them after using armor all you'd come up empty ... at any rate, I gave my '71 Boss mustang a few treatments (spaced 5 years apart), which I've owned since '86, and the dash looks good as new after 40 yrs old ... as for the insight, this will probably be the last substantial interior detailing it gets (with the exception of light general cleanings) in several years

I often wonder what the dealer-ships use when they detail the cars. Cause the cars always look bright, shiny, and have that greasy feeling to them. I love the look, but I hate the way it feels when I drive home. I certainly hope they don't use petroleum products.

I do this to all my vehicles. I love the slick, black, greesy look. I have a 99 geo metro I nursed the dash back to health with weekly drownings of that stuff. It was faded, started to see stress cracks and some discoloration.

Just be careful not to get any on your rubber floor mats or petals.
