Default Dented! What would you guys do?

hi all, I just noticed a dent on my 2010 Honda Insight. I believe it got dented on Friday night when I went out to clubbing. This really piss me off! Some people just don't give a damn when they open their door.

Anyway, should i fix it or wait until more damage on my car? Money is not a issue with me and that dent isn't bother me as much as i tho because the only way to prevent dent from happening is not to drive but then what's the purpose of buying a car, right? what did you guys do when you find a dent on your car?

I have successfully avoided dents on my other car by choosing parking spots carefully and strategically. Certainly bringing a car near a place with a lot of drinking going on will probably result in a lot of clumsy/inebriated people opening doors into your car. http://www.parkingbydesign.com/

If you want your car looking brand new, then yes, go ahead and get it fixed. PDR (paintless dent repair) specialists can make quick work out of dings and dents. Not sure where you are, but I'm sure you could find one on Google. On the other hand, the Insight ain't exactly a show car. For myself, I will probably just wait until it's time to turn the lease in and have all my dents/dings done at once.

Wouldn't you still have like 50/50 chance getting dented no matter how careful you pick the parking spot or maybe because I'm in Houston.

edit: thank for the link. it is quite educational.

Grocery store parking lot's are the worse. I try to park next to curbs or shopping cart slots. Any space where I can protect the car as much as I can without having to walk miles to go grocery shopping.
I think there is a tool you can buy that uses a suction-cup of some kind that helps remove tiny dents. Might look into that.

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear that happen to you. Dents are made up of 2 parts. A bend and sometimes paint damage. If you can get the back side of the dent it cna be popped out. In many cases you can use a suction cup. If there is paint damage, then it would need soem touch up paint to professional help as you do not want bare metal exposed to the elements.

Can you post a photo?

I can't right now since it's late and dark outside. I'm going to dealership tomorrow. Since I discover the dent, I decided to wash my car by hand and see what other place got chip, scratch or dent and I have discovered several damages all over my car. You're correct about not to exposed bare metal to the elements because I have that happened to my previous car.(Hyundai Elantra) It cause the metal to starting to rust.

Same here.
I 'd rather walk 200 -300 metres more and leave the car somewhere safer than choose a closer (yet busier) spot and risk being rear ended or dented.
So far (touch wood) it works.
