Default Best replacement tires for 2010 Insight

I have a 2010 Honda Insight with about 30,000 front tires are almost bald and needed replacing. From all the reading on-line I gather that the OEM Dunlop SP31 are expensive and not the prefered way to go.

Does anyone have any comments on the 2 replacement LRR (low rolling resistance) tires I have been able to find besides the OEM?

1. Michelin Energy E3A
2. Bridgestone Ecopia EP422

Now used to only getting 30,000 out of tires.

Thanks
Gus

Default 2010 tire replacement

Dear Gus,

I have 32,000 miles on my 2010 and I'm going with the Nokia WGR2, an All

Season LRR and suppose to be great in the snow. Lots of Luck! bmac

Default Yokohama

I was planning on buying the Yokohama Avid Envigors - I read these were a good replacement.

Default Yoko tires

Hi Folks,

I did not see a LRR label designation on the Yoko Tires you mentioned. I was

on the Tire Rack site.

They Yoko's are not rated LRR but I have had no significant reduction in MPG.

Welcome aboard and yokohamas all the way baby. I love a tire I can make right turns at 70mph and not slip, slide or just wipe out.

If anyone has snow experience with these Yokohama's please post!

Trying to decide whether to get snow tires for my Ohio-45-minutes-one-way daily drive, or if I would be ok just getting these Yoks!

We have had the Nokian WRG2 185/60R15 tires on for over 20K on our I2 and they are fantastic. No hit in mpg even though they are a wider tire. Also the car handles much better and the Nokian's have the "snow flake" certification, which means they "double" as a snow tire. They were one of 3 tires recommended by Consumer Reports in one of their high performance all year tire category reviews. The only downside to the Nokian's is they cost more and perhaps don't have the longevity of some others. I would expect them to go for 45000 miles based on the wear we have seen.

Maybe a silly question - did these fit on stock rims?
