I'll get right down to details on this question -
1) I'm 6' 2" tall and have 35" inseam, so my legs are pretty long. 190 lbs, so lean, not really big.
2) The 2010/11 Insight has better seating than 2011 Prius for taller drivers and here's why -
the Insight steering wheel tilts much much lower than the Prius. If you tilt the Insight steering wheel all the way up, that position is about the lowest the Prius wheel will go.
So the Insight wheel goes from a midpoint down, and the Prius steering wheel goes from a midpoint up really high.
So, the Insight steering is easy to reach when you're seat is lowered which it will be for tall people.
The Prius steering wheel forces the driver to raise the seat. This makes your knees go up higher. Prius steering wheel don't pull very close to the driver, so soon, long legs are crowded. Plus the terrible flying buttress center 'waterfall' console crowds legs even more. It sucks for me.
Insight is good for me. Nice headroom. If feels properly laid out. It's not large, but works very well for its size.
The downside, is the room behind the driver's seat when slid back is fairly tight on headroom and legroom. I hear they worked some interior details to create more space in the 2012 Insight. Looking forward to that.
