Default AUX input

So what exactly is this input for? I noticed that today for the first time in my car .

Is there a way to connect a USB drive to the aux? I would love to have multiple USB drives play (one for songs/other for audio books) and switch between the two. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I use the auxiliary jack for my portable XM radio. I have the audio output from the XM deck plugged in the aux jack and a 4G USB thumb drive plugged into the USB connector in the center console. To switch between the two I push the aux button on my non-NAV radio.

You should be able to plug any audio device with a standard audio jack into the aux jack and any standard USB audio device into the USB port. I'm not sure if a USB to aux jack converter would work in the aux jack. I suspect it would if you could find one.

I plug my iPod shuffle into it. Works like a charm.

Default Ipod

Thanks. I have an ipod nano. I tried to connect it to my aux, but I couldn't get any sound.

How do you connect the ipod? Is there a particular cable you use? This is what I used...

Amazon.com: Kensington Noise Reducing Car Audio AUX Cable for MP3 or SmartPhone: Electronics Amazon.com: Kensington Noise Reducing Car Audio AUX Cable for MP3 or SmartPhone: Electronics

Thanks.

I should have read your post closer. I'm not sure what model you have, but my 2010 EX has a USB connector in the center console in addition to the aux port.

Does your car have this interface in the center console? If it doesn't you still may need to toggle the aux button on the radio a couple times to get sound.

Default My ipod works!

Hey guys, I read some other post. All I had to do was turn up the volume on the ipod itself. Then I can hear it play.

Two questions:
- How do I control the ipod using the controls in the car?
- does the aux charge the ipod while it's plugged in? Is it possible?

Thanks.

1. You can't. Only if you had the USB port on the higher models.
2. No. You can buy a separate charger, though.
