Default Firmware updates?

My Insight is supposed to be here Thursday, fresh off the boat from Japan. I would assume that it has the latest revisions of any changes made during the 2011 year. My question is this: have there been firmware updates during the year or would I expect that the firmware is the same as others that have 2011 models. I have been reading here since at least April and some report little glitches that could be fixed easily with a firmware update. Is that something Honda routinely does or are those saved for model year refreshes. It is not a big deal at all, but I was wondering how a person would know what level firmware they had and if there was an update.

I've seen nothing that would imply that your software would be different than the others.

2011 programming is different from the 2010's. I have a 10 and my wife has an 11. I'd love to be able to update the software to 2011 specs. I've called the dealer and they don't know if it can be done and don't seem to be aware of the differences.

What differences have you noted?

The 2011 will stay at idle stop longer and it seems the IMA and battery usuage is different-as is uses more of the motor assist, and will use more of the battery-but then again that battery charge has to be made up. The IMA usuage isn't a big deal. The idle stop time on the 10 is way too short, might as well just not have idle stop. The 11 works great, makes more sense, is what I'd expect the car to do.

His original question was an older 2011 to a newer 2011. For that no difference I know of.

I agree that it would be great to keep all I2s to the most updated version. I might have kept my I2 if it were updated.
