Question 2011 Honda insight rear driving is weak? tire pressure question

Hi,Friends!

I am new owner of Insight 2011 for two weeks. The stop-and-go driving is only 30 MPG, the average for non stop-and going is 42 MPG.

When I rear drive the car, the speed is very slow, and It seemed the force for backing car very weak even I pressed the petal very hard. It is hard to clamb small slope when rearing the car. Any suggestion for me?

The tire pressure is 33 psi as the recommended, the maxium pressure limit of the tire is 40 psi. I already fill the air to the pressure 40 psi, every time when I stard car the alert on the dash come and go. Is that normal as the manual says

Thanks for every one `s time!

I think weak reversing is a cvt transmission thing, you do have to give it alot of gas. My wife had a Prius and it was the same way(worse actually) had to floor it to reverse out of a friends steep driveway.

This is the same sort of gas mileage I got when I had my Insight. True urban stop and go driving results in really bad gas mileage.

Yes, that is normal. You are on the right track with inflating the tires for max fuel economy.

Yes, also reverse is weak and takes some petal to make the car move.

Thanks a lot!

I went to dealer, the mechanic tried reverse driving for me, press the petal hard, he said the back-up speed is normal as designing
