Default Perpetual Price Thread

Hi there. Just joined the forum and am planning on purchasing a new '11 EX this week. I realize there is a model year 2010 price thread here on this forum that is quite lengthy, however, since we are now ending model year 11 and heading into 12, I thought to start a "perpetual price thread" so that it won't lose steam at the end of any particular year. I got the idea from ridgelineownersclub.com and it saved me a few g's when I bought my Ridgeline a few years ago.

Anyway, here goes...I emailed around town (Central FL) and have a few offers in hand. The best "out the door" price for an EX is $22,634, including tax/tag/title and all other fees. I thought that was pretty good. Please reply with any comments.

I was kind of expecting a new round of factory incentives for November, but haven't seen any yet. I realize supply is pretty thin due to the quake over there, but I can't believe there are no factory to customer nor factory to dealer incentives this late in the year. If I missed any please let me know ASAP. I'm real close to pulling the trigger here.

Have you checked with Coggin Honda on Atlantic? That's in Jacksonville, FL. Not too far from central Florida. If not, shoot me a PM and I might be able to hook you up with my guy who can (I hope) get you the best price around. Coggin is a huge organization. They had to get my 2011 from South Motors in Miami, but at least they had the ability to trade this or that for the color combination I wanted.

As you probably know, "out the door" prices vary from state to state. I don't see that as a very good measuring point on an international forum. I do wish you luck and hope that you get the car you want at the price you want.

Here in Las Vegas Nevada, the 2012s are getting a $700 discount from MSRP, and the the 2011s are getting $900 off. If I were to buy one today, I think I'd get a 2012. For me, I'd need about a $1500=2000 difference to buy a brand new car that is a year old.

While it's not a good measuring point, IMO, it's certainly a good starting point in figuring what I should be paying.

The OTD price quoted above listed the internet sales price at $20,694 so that's about $800 under MSRP. I guess there's still a little work to be done

Truecar.com says $20,687 for a 2011 EX/no nav. here in CA.

Oh, I think I'd get the 2012 also. I looked at a 2012 EX yesterday and it's a lot better than my 2010.

Default '11 ex $20,121

We bought our EX (no navi) last night. The cash price from the top of the buyer's order was $20,871 (vehicle plus delivery), not the best quote I had but the dealer volunteered a $750 down payment assistance if I used Honda financing. Their rate was just a fraction more than my credit union's, so being this was the only incentive I could find, it was certainly the deal maker. With this incentive that made the effective vehicle price $20,121.

Truecar.com, for my area in central FL shows $21,212. So, while its a decent benchmark, it's not the be-all, end-all in new car pricing. If you have the time a little work will pay off.

Looking at the purchase order, the only B.S. fee they snuck by me was what they call a "Third-Party Private Tag Agency Fee" of $49.

Tax, tag, title, yadda, yadda, yadda...out the door $21, 982. A pretty solid deal if I may say so.

In addition, this particular dealer includes a free lifetime unlimited mileage powertrain warranty. Of course it's a crappy 3rd party warranty from Fidelity Warranty Services, but it seems legit and I'm sure would have cost a few hundred dollars.

The $49 charge for the third party tag thing is standard in Florida. It's been on my sale slip both times in the past two years. You may get a little back from the state or someone in a couple of months. That too happened both times after the last two purchases.

Hope you enjoy your EX as much as I do mine!
