Default 2010 Insight - First to 100k?

Anyone else hit that magical 100k mark?

Bought in July, 2009 with 4 miles on the clock. I do mostly highway driving for work. OEM tires lasted me until 78,000 miles. I'm still on the original brake pads.

Reliability has been great. Only issue that I've had was with the A/C blower motor. It went out at around 75k miles. It was fixed under my extended warranty. No powertrain issues whatsoever. (knock on wood).

I've been averaging between 48 and 52 mpg depending on what type of driving (hwy or backroads). I don't really do much "hypermiling," but I avoid using the cruise control unless my ankle is getting tired from a 5+ hour drive.

Been a great car so far. We'll see how the next 100k goes.

Wow, impressed. How did you use your blower? Do you use auto? Do you leave it on low, etc?

Ive been trouble free for 52 thousand other than the oem tires that wore out.

I rarely use auto. I typically select a temperature and adjust the fan speed. It went out in the middle of the summer, so it was definitely getting a workout. I think it was just a faulty blower though, I haven't read about anyone else having any issue with it.

It is simply amazing to hear your tires lasted you until 78k... I wished I would have been that lucky!

Congrats on the milestone, I thought I put quite a few miles on, but you certainly are putting far more on. I've owned my Insight since May of 10, but I "only" have about 35k miles.

If there is one thing I love about this car it is certainly the mileage. It is a terrific green car and for the size of the vehicle it has great fuel economy. I average 42-50 depending on driving conditions.
