Default Hello

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. I've just registered for the site but I have been a lurking for over a year. I've got a 2010 Insight LX with 20,000 miles on the odo. No problems thus far except a bent wheel (thanks pothole). I've got many things I'd like to discuss and just to spread the Insight love.

Welcome aboard.

I cant wait to hear them. I have a lot on the back burn I would like to do like a rear view camera, switch the aftermarket radio to a dvd, gps unit just to name a few. I saw an ad for a peak nav unit with back up camera for little over 100 bucks thats tempting.

Yeah I'd like to replace the stock head unit too. Really hate I missed out on the camera option for the 2012.

Now....let's talk about that grid charger

What do you want to know about grid charging?

Since the pack is half a kilowatt its only good for short trips. You would be better off to balance the pack. I do it every 90 days and it allows my SOC screen to show 100%. When it quits reaching 100% is when I redo it.

It takes about 22 hours or so to do it. Its full when it settles for 121 volts and doesnt move. During the process you will see it vary from 112 up to 130. The voltage will swing wildy, the more it swings the more out of balance the pack is.

There are a few people here who make one. I had a guy in Fl make me one for 300 bucks.
