Default Mice !

Last year I opened my glove box and was treated to a huge wad of insulation. Got under the hood and with a flashlight could see an opening around the heater hoses so I stuffed it with steel wool. Last week I noticed shredded paper and mouse crap in the back floor. I've trapped 4 of the little rodents over the weekend. Now must go out and see if I need to restuff around the heater hoses. Is there anywhere else I might look for entry that anyone else has encountered ? I've never had a mouse in anyother vehicle. Is this poor design by honda ? Thanks Mike

I've never had an automobile be immune to mice.

Usually the problem stems from a automobile sitting around for too long aside from there being mice in the area to begin with.

If you've got a garage you could try putting out some decon and poison the buggers, unless you have pets that would get into the stuff. If you have cats that actually like to eat mice, that would be a problem also. Eating poisoned mice probably isn't healthy for cats.

I dunno, there's several ways to approach the problem. Trying to fortify the car itself against rodent invasion is probably a tall order, though. If you really can block them out, someone needs to award you a medal - I've never seen it done before.

Mice can get nearly anywhere. There's no such thing as a car that is sealed. They'll get in if they want in.

With the weather getting colder, mice are attracted to recently driven (warm) cars. If you have a garage, it'll probably be easier to insulate the crevices in the garage walls with steel wool or expanding foam than it would be to cover every opening within the car.

That's the truth. They can jump feet into the air also which greatly helps them get to where ever it is they've got their eyes set on.

The underbelly pan is probably a wonderful place for them to set up camp, too.

Even if the vehicle is parked in a garage, make sure the windows are completely rolled up.

Been there, done that.
