Default Oil smell or puff of smoke from your i2?

I had a guy follow me today and when we got to our destination he told me to check my oil as he saw a puff when I took off from every stop and smelled smoke the whole way he was behind me.

My oil level was fine. I know when my car was repaired from my accident it was driven 30 or so miles with no coolant in the engine. I showed the proof and brought it up to my insurance company, however they said Honda has tough engines and there was nothing that could be done since the car still runs ok, no error codes and no smoke.

I use 0w20 oil, honda filters, change at 15% of the reminder and have run a kn filter since first oil change. Never serviced the air filter per kn instructions.

I have a little over 50k miles on my car. Can anyone get someone to follow you and see if your car does the same?

Thanks

with such light oil it would be quite easy for some to blow by the rings ... so long as the color and level are good probably no need to worry

I'll check my CR-Z.

Was the alleged smoke and smell at full operating temperature?

Have you wiped a clean white rag on the inside of your tailpipe and examined it?

I was in stop n go driving, driving it like a rental car with lots of regen and riding brakes and engine braking. I am sure there is some oil left over in teh cylinders when you rev to 4 grand with no fire and come to a stop.

Yeah, my tale pipe is black on the inside, but not wet. When its wet you know you got serious problems.

Thanks if anyone can check this out. It maybe nothing.
