Default What happens with the IMA system above 35 mph?

Ive gotten back into adjusting the enginer phev system to get more mpg. Ive maxed out the amps and almost fried my converter, my next avenus is voltage til I can get 2 converters and use in parallel to get teh amo output needed. I am guessing at least 30 amps. The ima system seems to lag 45 second from the actual voltage vs what the system updates to.

From what I can see the system can tollerate more if in sport mode or an electrical load causing the charging system to be on. Even then, there is still some what a limit. Before an IMA fault is generated the SOC shows 100%. In those cases if driven under 35mph, I just turn it off.

The limit however can be over riden with the electrical load keeping the dc to dc converter on or going above 35mph.

Since I have moved I only need to drive a few miles in stop n go traffic, then about 30 one way of interstate driving. So, am planning on maxing out the voltage to 121 where as its at 117 volts and leave the amps at 20. Then either use the blower to allow me to keep it on or just wait til I am above 35 and turn it on.

Any idea what goes on at the faster speed?

parasitic power loss from accessories, belts, etc. ... greater friction ... as for mph dependent systems ???? hhhmmmmm ....

perhaps the computer is also stepping up spark, timing, etc. above 35 mph in sport mode ... we know, for instance, that honda has optimized the cars systems in eco mode for fuel efficiency - perhaps the opposite is true when sport mode is used

My concern was regarding the ima system. I can give part throttle going up a grade and when I slow to 35, boing, ima error when I have the voltage turned up on the phev kit.

Never mind, I triggered an ima error at 45mph. I am guessing its either an error between teh bcm and mcm in regards to voltage before it does a negative recall to reset itself or the absolute voltage of the pack catches up to what monitors it with its 45 second delay and it says, WHOA, we got a problem and shuts down.

So, looks like I am back to leaving the blower on speed 3 to keep the charging system enabled so I can boost the hell out of it.

I found it. The charging system is left on.
