I would think you would be familiar with the occasional ice storm over in Virginia. But I suppose the population density to trees all over the place is a lot higher over in Virginia in general.

Over here every now and then it rains and then freezes suddenly. Pine trees all over begin falling down taking electric and phone poles along for a ride. Sometimes we have people without electricity for a month until companies are finally able to get poles and lines repaired.

Usually it's just the pine trees that are a problem, all that ice on the needles wreck havoc.

I was being funny. I fell down and soiled my pants when I read your comment out of context. Who am I to let facts stand in the way of a good story? When we get advance warning of a storm we fill the tubs with water to "flush" the turlets since we had a water pump and only a 10 gallon tank.

Yeah, pine trees only have a life of 20 years and they just get too tall for their trunks to support them. Pine trees indicate a recent fire in an area or that it was recently logged or cleared.

Some parts of VA the power lines and everything else electrical is routed under ground, elsewhere its all over head. Seems quite a few countys in VA route the lines in the rear of the lots vs front as to why many neighborhoods do not have street lights.

Finally got around to changing them. I posted a short little "how to" in regards to gaining access to the back of the engine. Its not difficult to figure out, but thought there would be some people who could benefit from it...
