Glad to see that you are thinking of purchasing one. I'm not an expert, but the one thing I noticed is that you would be paying sales tax on the full price with no break for the tax you already paid on your trade. In Florida, you only pay tax on the difference between the balance due after subtracting the value of the trade. Make sure they don't tax you on the full price (if, in fact, you do the trade). If / when you get the car, I do believe you will enjoy it.

Thanks, Dieselnine. I specifically didn't tell the Internet sales guy that I was trading in a vehicle while we were negotiating price on the new vehicle. I wanted to keep those transactions separate. But, you're right, New York does the same thing--the buyer pays tax only on the amount of the sale minus the trade-in.
Thanks for the encouragement about the Insight! I take it you have one and like it? Which model year/model? What kind of calculated MPG are you getting? (If you don't mind my asking.)
Yes, I've had an EX w/o Nav since April, 2011. I still love it. As for the gas, in the summer I was averaging 47mpg per tank (calculated). It's gotten quite cold down here, and I can see the mileage starting to drop off a bit. Haven't calculated a full tank yet, but will post when I do. Have a feeling it will be in the 44 to 45mpg range in the suburbs.
I just bought mine in Dallas, TX and paid right around the same price as you did for an EX w/o nav. Mine had alloy wheels and window tint. I'm leasing mine and paid the first month payment as a down payment.

Very nice numbers, Dieselnine. Anything you don't like about the Insight?

Ah, thanks very much, zzzptm. Good to know you paid about the same!
I don't know if I believe in omens or not, but two what I consider rare things happened to me in the space of the past 24 hours.
Last night, I was driving home in the middle lane of a three-lane road. A Gen-2 Insight came up on my right in the right lane and passed me just before it exited the highway. I can't remember the last time I saw an Insight of any model year on the highway.
This morning, as I walked to the train, a Gen-2 Insight was parked in the first spot at the Dunkin' Donuts that I have to walk by to get to the train station.
So I see two Gen-2 Insights in 24 hours after not having seen any in I can't remember how long.
Signs I should go ahead with the purchase? Are the Honda gods talking to me?
