If it is like all other Hyundai warranties it is non-transferable, only good for the original owner. Which is still a great deal if you plan to keep that car for a long long time.
There's not really any aftermarket support for any hybrid batteries anyway....
The Enginer systems don't count since they're just an addon, not a replacement. The BetterBattery is the only true aftermarket hybrid battery available AFAIK.

Yeah, I was inferring to the BetteryBattery, but since I do not own one I did not want to be seen as endorsing it as a moderator. Rather it will be available for the Hyundai is to be seen, again its possible development maybe hindered by the warranty.
I do agree the PHEV is an addon, however I think it still qualifies as a modification like a turbo or super charger.
Many people do not mod a car til its warranty expires, it seems that if the system or part has a lifetime warranty it would hinder that.
On the plus side like someone eluded to maybe the battery will help the first gen Insight owners and some HCH owners who want a or need a new pack?

My own car choice came down to Insight, MK2 or mk3 Prius or various diesels. I needed a family car so one with less luggage space wasn't an option. Test drove the lot. Basically concluded that HSD want for me. It felt to unlike driving and far more like guiding the car.
Honda's best bet is from buyers wanting fuel economy and reliability (diesels with DPFs and turbos are not generally reliable for lots of short journeys) with a more conventional driving experience.
IMA hybrids should always have a manual transmission, hatchback option. Like the CRZ make them drivers' cars. I can guarantee that would massively increase European sales. Paddle shifters are a start but give us a stick and you open up a market that wouldn't consider a Prius.
