Why do you say that? What's different mechanically after your accident?

It whistles like a harmonica at highway speeds.

Fender to hood gaps off.

Fender to door gaps off.

Bumper insert is silver like duct tape vs black like I had it.

Magna Bra is gone.

Hood has less orange peel than rest of car and looks too shinny.

Valley between wiper blades is shinny black where rest of plastic trim has started to dull.

Radiator seems to be an inch shorter than oem and top brackets do not line up right.

Right turn signal is clear vs tinted.

Right head lamp appears newer than left.

Head light is bluer on right vs white of left.

I worry the fragments of the water pump are in my motor some where and may cause more damage in the future or corrode in a way to cause more damage.

Various scratches are on the roof and rear sail panels like someone drug a piece of sand paper 3 inches of 40 gritt.

There is a rattle from the right when cold at low rpms just above idle.

I am sure there is more, but I havent looked too hard. I hope the ac works this summer, as its been too cool to really use it.

That's outrageous! I didn't know it was that bad. IIRC, it all happened around the same time your dad passed away, right? I can relate to the tough time you were having and I know having your car repaired wasn't top priority. Been there, done that.

Anyway, I don't think it's too late to have it repaired properly by insurance. You could bring it to another shop and have an adjuster come down. I did that when the repairs on my Dodge wern't right and I got them to make it right(95+ %)

You have to address that water pump, even if you do it yourself. It looks easier than a belt driven one.

What did your insurance say about diminished value? I asked and they said there wasnt a law that required it in VA. I think I searched online and found it was ok to offer that in VA.

Everytime I called Progressive, my insurance they kept routing me somewhere else, not in Richmond. Northern VA, Southern VA, Western VA, at least 100 miles away.

The nicest one of all was Geico. They had an office at Priority Collision and would offer to help me load, unload and swap vehicles. Too bad as that was their desired repair shop that refused to service my car. Guess I could join them if they gave me a good discount and play ignorant if my car needed service again?

l never forget the day the Service Tech Andy Buritto was more or less rushing me off their property and I didn't have room for my fathers oxygen bottle. The Geico guy saw it and told him what it was and brought it to me as he knew it was important.

I didn't ask them yet. You have to meet certain criteria. I believe in PA, the accident has to be mostly if not all the other persons fault. I haven't received a final determination yet but it looks good according to the police report. I have to go to court on the 16th for the lady who hit and ran me.

There are lawyers who file diminished value claims. You can find them online. They usually work on a contingency basis. I've read once a lawyer files a claim for this sort of thing; they settle fast. It's worth investigating.

One thing I'd like to mention regarding HID light durability. Both light housings and high beam bulbs were damaged during the accident. However the HID's survived and work just like before.

Have you tried to get insurance lately? I finally had it with progressive as the home loan dept said my insurance was null and void after I said I was moving and selling my home, however it may sit vacant and I would like it covered. THey said I need vacant property insurance, places me on hold for 15 minutes to connect me to another dept. The phone was later disconnected.

So, I went shopping. Geico was the cheapest by far, 411 for 6 months for my honda and suzuki full coverage on both , min coverage allowed by state and 500 deductible. Wow......

Anyhoo, the website flagged me because of the accident and listed 215 dollars as the estimate of the damages and advised me to call an agent. The quote went up 100 bucks.

I called an agent and she asked about the accident. I told her it came off the truck, crossed 3 lanes and bounced off the guard rail. She placed me on hold and came back and said because it did not come directly off the vehicle it didnt count against me.

You lost me. What are you trying to say? How did your accident go down? Mine was a slam dunk in my favor and the other driver is considered 100% at fault; by my company.

My insurance is up for renewal and there is no increase in rate.

I had a claim on the drivers data base and it said Non fault accident. It hurt my rate. After I explained the accident to the rep she removed it from my policy quote. You know, the one where the trailer hit my car?

I think you had me beat in damages and it may effect you more than I. Glad to hear it hasnt in your case.

I know you had an accident but don't know the specifics on how it went down?
