These rattling windows are so bad, makes me want to turn in my lease early...
UGH, I can't take this anymore.
Honda must have made the windows thinner to save weight but they are too small for the channel and rattle whenever they're not fully up or fully down.
It's usually nice weather here in So. Ca and I always drive with the windows down a few inches. The only fix I can think of is to wedge something in the channel when the window is down a bit.
The rattling seems to have gotten worse the longer I have the car. I don't remember it when it was brand new.
I need to go to the dealer and vent my frustration. Is this problem only with the I2's or does it happen to other Hondas?
With shortcomings like this, it makes me wonder how much testing was done before the car was released to be sold. Did any "normal" people just drive the cars and notice the window rattles, dash rattles, stupid IMA programming on the 2010's and all the other stuff we have complained about? Overall I like my 2010 ex nav, but I really was expecting a lot more from Honda detail wise and quality wise. I would have thought these wouldn't be issues in 2010!
The rattling doesn't bother me. What is a pain is this is the first car I've owned where putting the windows down and then back up doesn't clear condensation from the outside. May be because the glass is too thin compared to the channel.

Well said - this is just how I feel about my 2010 ex nav.
Unfortunately, I purchased mine, rather than leased, so I expect I will just deal with the shortcomings. For me the shortcomings are annoyances, but not quite bad enough to make me switch to something else before I get my money's worth out of the car.
The Insight is a big contrast to my prior Honda, the 2004 Accord, with which I had only a very few very minor issues and which my son is now enjoying. The Accord was essentially everything I expected of a mid-size sedan: comfortable, handled well, ergonomically very well laid out, easy to work on (except for the oil filter position), and reliable.
My Accord made me a big Honda fan, but my Insight has put me back to thinking of Honda in the same league as many other generally good makes.

They've never heard of this problem before, so I need to make an appointment, wait an hour or an hour and a half while they call the Honda Technical Department. After that, they'll probably do nothing to my car and let me be on my way, but then the complaint will be sent to Honda HQ.
Yea, the windows suck and seems to carry-over to all year models of the I2.
Fortunately I have zero rattles (30k miles) and I'm happy enough with the IMA system. I wish it wouldn't charge going up hills, but all I need to do is apply more throttle and it quits charging and goes to neutral. I can live with that well enough.
Just wish I had fogs.
edit: You know, if someone is adventurous enough, you COULD glue in the window channels a thin line of felt. Pretty much guaranteed to make that window rattle vanish. Something that should had been done initially, IMO. But ... I don't really care to rip my door apart yet.

Funny, I've never noticed anything, unless I have the window half way rolled down. In the grand scheme of things, it isn't a big deal. The Insight isn't a luxury car. As long as your rubber roof strips aren't coming off, you're doing good.

Just curious does lowering the back window a few inches help the rattle issue? Some time it will equalize the air pressure within the car and could change things.
