Received mine yesterday as well, which was a relief - I was starting to feel left out

Got mine yesterday too. It popped off after my first drive-thru car wash. It's not a big issue now, since I've hand washed it since then.

Got both letters the same day, two days ago.

I have never noticed any problems with that molding... and I already have close to 60.000 miles on the car (and still love it).

But I can only think of maybe 4 or 5 times that I washed mine at a station - usually I do it at home.

Had my car fixed yesterday. The dealer ended replacing the right roof moulding because they said it was damaged. Then both moldings were glued, so it won't come off again.

Cobb e mailed me the video he posted and had me going. I started to get really pissed when I thought it was a seize and desist letter from Honda.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the thread! My wife fell in love with a used 2010 Insight three weeks ago and we've been having fun driving it around. I don't think we will get a letter since we are 2nd owners but now we know about it.

Good job Forum!

Roger

Yes you will get a letter unless the dealer has already done the repair. Have the dealer run your vin number to see what recalls have been done.
It only takes about 5 minutes.

This is a service bulletin, not a recall. Recalls are for safety issues. Dealers selling used vehicles of their own make must do the recalls before selling. Auto manufacturers get their owners names through DMV records. Therefore it's always a good idea (and the law in most states) to keep you address current with the DMV. Now I have had a lot of Hondas, and have had service bulletins done done (and recalls as well) but I have never been notified of a service bulletin by mail. I usually find out about them on boards like this. I think Honda is really going out of their way to make Insight owners happy.
