Adding 2012 updates to 2010 model
I read the following quote from Honda regarding the 2012 model updates:
"To improve aerodynamic performance, the strakes ahead of the front wheels were extended by 0.4 inches to better direct air around the front tires. The shape of the engine bay underbody cover was also fine-tuned, and air diffusers were added under the rear bumper to smooth airflow behind the vehicle. The changes combined to net a 2-percent increase in aerodynamic performance."
I was wondering if these could be easily applied to 2010. Does anyone have measurements of the front strakes of a 2012 to see if by 'extended', they are just .4 inches longer (vertically downward) than the original 2010 ? What is the distance from the outer edge to the body, have they been moved from the original location ? A picture would be helpful.
On the rear bumper in the parts diagram, the 'diffusers' are indicated as 24 and 25. These are only $12 each and look like they could be attached to the 2010 bumper extension. Could someone post some close up photos of the 2012 lower rear bumper, sides and middle, to see if there are other changes, like ribs on the extension in the middle, not just diffusers on the edge.
The third change, the belly pan, looks like it is also a simple replacement for the 2010, but the cost of the part is a bit more - $36, a picture of this would be nice to see what they have changed.
