I'd get a sun screen for the front window at least. Perhaps additional tint for the sides? That is done here in the U.S. in hot states like Texas, up to and sometimes beyond what the law allows.

But here is the real problem: The IMA battery does not like sitting in the heat.
So much so that the warranty is shorter here in hot states.

Hi Joel, I'm on the NSW far north coast and have had 2011 for 2 weeks. I'm thinking of some sort of dash covering but wonder whether one needs to cut around 3 sides so that the passenger side airbag can be deployed properly. Is this an issue? At the moment we're using reflective screens front and back.

I thought that I had read somewhere that the second generation Insight was the top selling car in Japan a few years ago. Those guys drive on the right side, don't they? If you can get to a Japanese Honda sight with english conversion, you may be able to find the dash mat there. Good luck... it's got to be out there somewhere.

Indeed... I also read that. I have tried Japanese sites, they are remarkably hard to navigate and translate, and I've havd no luck so far. I will continue to try there as well, but if anyone comes across anything - I'd appreciate any pointers!

A guy here from California said his local "pimp my ride" store made him one. They have a machine to cut window tint and may as well have one for dash mats. I have one and I like to think there is less glare on the windshield and the ac is a bit cooler coming out the vents.

I think we have too much dash and am planning on how to use the space to mount a 4 speaker amp and cb radio.
