Default Hello from a new owner

Just got a 2012 base. Loving it so far. Just turned 1000 miles today. Have been averaging 43.5 MPG city driving 6 miles one way to work. It is in the 40's Fahrenheit temp wise right now.

My biggest question is... does anyone have or know of a good service manual for the Insight? I looked at Chilton and Haynes but they don't have anything for the Insight. I have done the maintenance on all my vehicles and I would like to continue doing so.

I saw a post about about blocking the front grill to heat up the engine faster. At what outside temp do you take the grill block off?

I also saw something about over inflating the tires...what is the recommended PSI to achieve best MPG?

Thanks.

Found the post linking to http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17560 pretty much answered my questions. Thanks

New owner here as well! Purchased a 2010 LX this weekend. HUGE upgrade from my '99 Hyundai I had before! Been reading a ton on here and learning how to drive the sucker. Took a ~150 mi trip mostly HWY yesterday and it drove great.

Default New owner too...

Just picked up my 2013 EX yesterday xmas eve. 38 miles on it after my test drives after it folled off the truck.

Nice ride but at 6'4" leg room a bit challenging to say the least but mostly will be wife's 600 mile a week commute car.

Enjoying the info on here. Merry Xmas everyone.

Welcome aboard guys, it only gets better with use.

I got my manual and electrical manual on ebay for 50 bucks.

rhumdoodle, you got the seat slid back all the way and completely lowered?

I was going to mention the raise lower feature on the driver's seat. It kind of depends on if your height is legs or torso. I personally like it better cranked up so my knees are more bent, but I am average height.

Cobb, I found if I wrap my left leg behind my head, wedging my foot onto the back ceiling it gives me an inch more leg room which is just enough. Leaning the seat back a little before I assume this position improves things.

Nah, kidding. Yes lowered the seat and reclined the seat back a fair amount and seems like ok for the hour and a half drive I did. Before doing that it was kind of painful after an hour.

What comes to mind now is that song with the lyrics "Low... Ri-der ...." lol. Enjoying the ride. So if you see a big bald guy low riding in his insight on I95...that would be me!

With my wife actually driving 660 miles a week and this getting double the mpg of what she used to drive, the savings will be paying at least half the car payments each month.

Sounds like something is caught in your seat track. The seat does take a few days to "break in" so to speak. As I sit all the way lowered, seat slid back my head is parallel to the seat belt pivot point on the b pillar. My right knee almosts touches the dashboard where the climate control circle is.
