I dread the day I have to fill up above $4. In 2008 Minnesota hit $4.20 at my local station and I managed to squeeze the tank down to the final drops before gas was back at $4.00 and I was able to fill up without ever paying more than $4. I've only filled up at a higher price(after money change) when I visited Canada in the fall of 2008, I put $5 Canadian in which was about a gallon, enough to get me back into Michigan to fill up at high $3's.

Locally here we are at $3.4x, hoping they stay down or that the electric cars cause the gas prices from going up too far. If they don't it will be a good thing for those of us who want electric cars to get noticed but at the same time it will show how much the world is really hurting for oil. I feel bad for everyone outside the states paying far more than we are in the US for fuel.

I'm just glad I've got the Insight but that doesn't help the rising prices of delivered items we all need to purchase to live such as food, clothing, etc.

Hi,
Yeah gas prices are going higher and higher day by day....
Experts should introduce some other fuel for vehicle to make it more cheaper....
some russian and asian countries are using methanol instead of gasoline to reduce oil consumption....

You guys are still lucky. In Europe the prices are through the roof.
The current gas price in my country is € 1,70/liter ($ 8.90/gallon) .

In countries like France and Germany the oil companies mix the gasoline with 10% bio-ethanol. You'd think it's a good thing, but the prices stay the same while the fuel economy goes down (Ethanol has a lower energy density). So you end up paying even more.

Electricity, its the most efficient and cost effective solution unless you live somewhere where the electricity costs about 3 or 4 times what it costs where I live. Other than that gasoline and diesel are really the only other practical options but it comes at a higher price.
