Default Civic Hybrid question.

The question I have is this: where there any sales of Civic Hybrid in Canada with MANUAL tranny? I have seen those Hondas in US, but in Canada they are all CVT.

Not to my knowledge. All of the IMA stuff except for the first gen insights have been automatics. The states is the last place to look for a stick shift.

I happen to be selling a Civic Hybrid w/ MT, but I live in MN. (Not too far from Canada.) I bought a 1st gen. Insight w/man. trans. in Canada and brought it back to the US. No customs charge.

The Civic Hybrid only had the manual option in the 1st Generation 2005 and before. They might be a bit rare though even if they were sold in Canada as they are fairly rare here, it seems the CVT is more common for the Civic and manual more common with the Insight. Likely an extreme range sort of thing since it makes a 10 mpg difference(or more depending on the driver).

Also remember some HCH's don't have lean burn. I 'm 90% sure both CVT and MT's have models with and without lean burn. Lean burn models fall under a different warranty time table. Which means you trade shorter warranty coverage for more mpgs.

I have a 2005 MT with lean burn for my winter car, which will soon be stretching it's legs .
