Default Any successfull, ready to go EVs?

Well, looks like I will be living in the city and working and shopping within 3 miles of my new home, or new to me. Sure you could walk, bike or segway, but its cold out and could rain and I am not that "green". So, I am looking for something street legal, that is enclosed with room for a passenger and some cargo room.

For myself, I was considering the buge. It seems on one part of the website its street legal as of 07, but else where says its classified as a motorcycle and needs the license or endorsement for my state.

I was going to test drive a Zap 3 wheeled pick up truck, but looks like they shut down in 09. I was going to go to an EV dealer in SC to do that at one time.

I guess a golf cart is always an option or a GEM, but I was looking to stay around the 5 grand range.

I guess for 5 grand I could get a used or abused ev conversion and start buying lithum packs as needed or can afford to build up the pack?

Any thing I may of missed?

Nothing? Not even a comment to the Bug-e? Wished Chesterfield was NEV or golf cart friendly. Shame most of the roads have 45mph speed limits and the residents go 55 on them.
