When you guys fillup please calculate mpg manually to ensure the car's mpg gauge is accurate.

I have now filled the tank twice and the electronic display is a bit optimistic on mileage. The true mileage on the 1st tank was 46.2 MPG and the second was 43.5 based on miles traveled and the gas pumped in the tank. These results were less than the display indicated.

The display showed 2 MPG more than the actual................

Thanks for the info.

It would interesting to know how far off your gauge was from your true MPGs, so that others can compare with yours.

The 08 Fit Mileage Display has been reported as being consistantly over-optimistic. Suspect we'll see the same on Insight2.

When I test drove the 2nd Gen I figured it was way off, since the car is about 1000lbs heavier, and driven by an engine 30% bigger than the 1st Gen, yet showing 55-60mpg on the gauge. The 1st Gen gauge is very accurate, but maybe they just used a cheap vacuum gauge on the 2nd gen or something comparably inaccurate to save money. So how inaccurate is it?

I have around 49 but it keeps climbing after every trip. Last 3 trips close to 60. I've only put 160 on the ODO, so first fillup will have more accurate number because I can take the mileage/gallons. Right now about 1/3 tank of gas used.

I'll post an update once I fill up next week.
