It was like 54 that morning, then rose to about 90. As you can see my passengers were wearing jackets as I like keeping the car cool and windows from fogging. We had no ac on the way down first leg, then second it was ac on automatic. I find the automatic climate control doesnt hit the fuel economy like using the manual mode. If you look carefully you might be able to see the temp on the bottom part of the dash readout.
Lowering keeps speed from killing your fuel economy. I have not notice a drop in econony vs weather. I think the gas grade or addatives for winter/summer causes that.
Safety is one reason I use the video vs still camera. If you ever tried to focus a camera while driving and taking photos its impossible. With the video camera I just move my hand like I am adjusting the ac, radio or scratching my right ear and hope I got everything. Lots of stuff along the road I would like to film, but traffic too heavy, congested or no where to pull over safely.
My passengers are invalids, they needed help getting in and out of the car and use rolling walkers to get around.
I find using my foot vs cruse control works best for fuel economy. Even if I do what the non hybrid drivers do by speeding up going up hills or grades and coasting down.
I got the water pump replaced in my geo metro and cut the springs lowering it 2 inches, so driving it for a while just to commute and saving the hybrid as my taxi.
