I started to do a PSI measurement on my tires, but in the meantime I did a grill block! I posted the instructions up, it was a rather simple $0.67 well spent, but I presume it could be slightly different depending on whether you have front plates or not.

I would love to do that. If I could just add 3 or 4 more gallons, that would be another 150-200 miles more than I'm getting now which would be SWEET for a 2010 Insight!!

update
i bought my insight dec 13 2009. it now has 1145 miles and counting. i live in los angeles but i just drove 340 miles north to san jose. my avg mpg for the trip was 45 mpg temp 48 degrees. so far my mpg has not improved yet unlike the others who claim that their mpg jumped when they hit 1000 miles, mine seems to be the same

I'm in the same boat. I have over 2,000 miles on mine and my MPG seems to be going down and not up.

I can't even get 40 MPG with mine. I'm lucky to get 36-38. In the beginning I was getting up to 57 on the highway (according to the MID) but then I found the MID lies big time. Then I started checking the tank by dividing the numbers of miles by the number of gallons to fill each time and that's when I discovered how bad it was.

I don't know how you are driving but I am still getting over 40 MPG with blizzard conditions (-5 MPG hit) and snow tires (-3 MPG hit).

The only other time I got MPG this low was when we set the cruise at 85 MPH on our vacation out west.

Probably too many very short trips. We live in a residential neighborhood and my wife only drives 2 miles to work. Cars don't get their best gas mileage while they are warming up.

Also, don't forget.........Most states now have the "winter blend" of fuel so the power and mpg will be down. Several threads prove that point..........
Cooler weather should give better power, but the "wb" fuel is less efficient.

Yeah, that could be part of the problem as well. What a buzz kill.

I was hoping Amsoil would give me 1 to 3 MPG (which I have not put in yet since I'm waiting for the car to break in), but without also putting it in the transmission, and being that this engine has such little power, I don't know if it will make a different in miles per tank. On other cars it does, but on a car like this I have my doubts. I have bugged them many times about CVT fluid and all I get is the run around. I can't find any other top company who makes a CVT fluid for our cars. I hate OEM oils like you have no idea. Honda is not looking out for longevity of our cars. All they care is that you get past the warranty period and then you buy another car.

I'm hoping to put 400,000 to 500,000 miles on this car. OEM oils just don't fit that bill.

With all of that stereo work I did to this car, I don't want to have to do that all over again.

I only want the best fluids for this car and I don't care if they are $15/qt. $15/qt. is NOTHING compared to what you'll spend repairing a transmission at 200,000 miles from using cheap, OEM oils. I want to prevent any kind of overhaul in the distant future after seeing so many other people who have went through these headaches. I just want my car to run like new for as long as I own it.

Where can I get the best CVT fluid for this car? Will somebody please tell me? Red Line and Royal Purple don't seem to have one neither and this pisses me off until no tomorrow. I'd even pick Mobil 1 <gulp!> over OEM if I had to.

I wonder if this CVT fluid is any good?

They have no ASTM tests or anything in writing to prove that they outperform Honda's oils.
