1 more q - which rims did you put the 195/60/15's on? the stock steel rims, stock alloys or aftermarket?
i'm curious if this tire size goes on the stock steel rims

They fit perfectly on my stock EX wheels - they are 5.5 inches wide. No rubbing at all. It feels like a real car now. I drove 250 miles today and it is night and day difference. Without stiffening the suspension and adding sway bars it's never gonna be a super handler, but these tires make a world of difference in handling and noise and confidence. I have seen pictures of quite a few 2010-11 insights that have front end damage and can't help wonder if the horrible stock tires contributed.

It's hard to tell if the ride is much improved since I run 50psi, but I would say marginally improved. Also I haven't noticed a drop in mpg - these are LRR tires.

i assume, since you have an EX, that those were alloy units ... now i'm just wondering if the steel rims are also 5.5 inches wide

Whats the general concensus for a replacement tire. Ive read the OEM tires stink, so what is everyone going with??
I have a 2010 Honda Insight with the Dunlop Tires --- they have gone BALD after only 32,000 miles --- extremely poor performance on the tire front.

Rest of the car has been SUPERB --- averaging 47 miles per gallon (I tweeked the computer settings)

I'm waiting to hear from someone with an LX stock steel wheel from the 2010 model with experience installing wider tires. I'd like to know what the limit is.. can it handle 195 or even 185?? Anyone tested this?

If you get a chance to check some other topics, many of us have quoted our similar poor performance figures for the Dunlop OEM tires. There is no way to put it nicely, the Dunlop SP31's are crappy tires. My experience was even worse than yours, I didn't use the tires for more than 25k miles, rotated properly, didn't drive abnormally hard on them and they wore away like butter. I even switched out my tires with winter tires, so the SP31's I had uninstalled the other week weren't even used for many months last winter (from Nov 2010-Mar 2011).

I hope Honda isn't paying a premium to install those tires... The SP31's are total junk and not worth the money.

I've only had the car for 1500 miles and the Dunlops were scary in the way that they handled. I have hated them every day for the past three weeks that I've owned the car. On the Bridgestones I have the PSI at 50 and I'll see how I like that. I may end up bringing it back to 45. (Discount set them at 37.) I was going to use my Costco coupon next week and the quote was $371 out the door, not including rebuilding the Tire Pressuring Monitoring Systems in each tire. I gave Discount Tire a chance to beat it and they came back with $392 out the door including the TPMS plus amazing service. I didn't have to wait til next week when the Costco coupon was valid and then wait for them to order them. Discount got them in the next day.
I'm glad to hear that you are happy with the tires. After driving with them for a while, have you noticed any difference in mpg? I'm trying to decide if I want to buy some 195/60/R15 yokohamas, or go with the Bridgestone Ecopia 422 in the same size. The good thing is you can get the latter at Costco and get their excellent service, where I'd need to have the yokos installed somewhere else.

I'm surprised the poor performance people are having with their dunlops.

I keep them at around 45psi and have found no issues' what so ever with wearing. With proper rotation i think they'll last atleast till 40k at a minimum

I had a old 90's S class benz now that thing was so heavy it ate through tires at record speeds.
