Honda Canada Recall regarding DTC P1164 / LAF Sensor
Honda Canada has issued a recall to fix the oxygen sensor diagnostic problem. This is an excerpt from the letter sent to affected Canadian owners:
"Honda Motor Co. Ltd. has determined that under certain operating conditions, a defect relating to emissions regulations exists on certain 2000-'01 Insights. Your vechicle's engine control module (ECM) may not correctly identify all malfunctions of the emissions system. Because of this possible non-detection, the vehicle does not meet federal emissions regulations."
