Insight Receives "Best Integration/Use of New Technology" Award
[RE-POST] America's fuel efficiency leader, the gasoline-electric 2002 Insight hybrid, has been bestowed seven trophies, including the honorable acclaim of "Best Integration/Use of New Technology" in the Sub-compact/Compact category at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum. This competition of "environmentally innovative" cars showcases the auto industry's environmental progress and commitment. The Insight entered into the competition featured the new continuously variable (CVT) transmission, which boasts a 57/56 mpg city/highway EPA fuel-economy rating.
The Michelin Challenge Bibendum took place late last year and vehicles were judged based on interior and exterior design, design integration, acceleration and braking, handling on a slalom course, external noise, fuel efficiency and fuel range.
