It was the first time that I ever went to a hybrid get together event and I'm glad I did. It was very interesting and I learned a lot from other people, who showed and explained to me their vehicles with various configurations.

I hope you have another one... maybe next year in the spring or summer?

Take care everyone,

Russ

I as well have never been to a hybrid meet and it was enjoyable and worth the drive even though I took a few wrong turns in the dark on the way home (I should have got the EX with the NAVI!).

I liked the MODed gen 1s and the battery powered truck/jetta was interesting as well.

For those who have done MODs, any problems with inspection or do they look the other way?

What's the typical cost of adding additional batteries/mods. I think with a little more EV, I could get the gen 2 insight beyond 60 MPG and closer to 100 MPG

Well, we just got back at 3:30 this morning. We are seriously dragging. But...

I had an absolute blast on the way back. I tried working on every hypermiling technique I know of, learned to listen to the car and what it had to tell me about it's fuel concuption, and decided to ignore the other drivers speed. The result? By far my highest ever long trip average, an increase in lifetime average, and my first 800 mile tank! I also learned that the car will go quite an extreme distance even after the fuel light comes on. There has been quite some discusion on the forum here as to what the fuel capasity of the Insight really is (including filler tube, ect). Well, here it is. I didn't run out but I bet it was real close!

I had alot of fun with you all and hope we can do it again soon

Glad you made it home safe. Congratulations on the MPG increase. Thank you for coming up to our neck of the woods.

10-25-09. As far as I know, nothing is in the works. However, the Ohio peeps are planning one for Feb. I'm not sure how far you are willing to go. This was a 2600 mile trip for me but was worth it!

I have no real issues with the traveling besides logging lots of extra miles on my car. But this semester has to be dedicated to school very hard. I need to better my grades haha. =)
