Hello Chaps!

What an excellent day, nice weather and good company with a few prizes thrown in The whiskey from the raffle is in the cupboard and the kindly donated (thanks Fatlad) Ebbro model I won from the IC is on my work desk.

Big thanks to Christian for organising the meet and to Peter for spending yet more time in that position working within the IPU!

I'll get some pictures posted up later. I seem to be good at blinking at exactly the wrong time! Happy with the car after cleaning it just before leaving then a quick detail spray and blacking the trim on arrival, everyone else had clearly made an effort.

The day seemed to have got a few people looking around the cars and showing interest. One chap didnt know Honda made hybrids and asked if they were privately owned cars!

I over heard the usual aswell....

'Ive got one question - how much are new batteries'

'Why dont you just get a diesel'

Hope to see you all again soon and yet more projects developing. My next one is using some FOC NWH10 cells to refurb my pack and possibly add a second pack from the UK group buy - oh and get that 5 way switch mounted

My Pictures:

Some Parts on display.... thats display, NOT for SALE as many of the public thought, Peters Blue box of bits and tools seemed to attract attention with people rummaging through it on several occasions.

Ronan's lovely Red Insight.

I think the 11 cars we had :

4 Oxygen Blue
4 Silver
2 Citrus Yellow
1 Red

accounted for 10% of the cars. Would be good to stretch a similar turnout to another larger generic car show? Any ideas?

Japfest is probably the largest Japanese-specific car show that we would probably be properly welcomed at. Bit of a strange mix of people but they're interested in anything eclectic and it's at Silverstone so fairly convenient to get to. Already been and gone this year but there's always next...

Well, what a nice day it turned out to be! My pics only cover the same stuff, so I won't bother posting them.
I have been wondering how those guys took the aerial shot? I didn't see any tall buildings or climbable trees, nor tethered balloons or model helicopters!! Any ideas? Bloody great telescopic pole I suppose.....edit.... Having checked out the firms website, it was indeed a telescopic pole on the top of a small van. It would have been so much cooler if it had been an Apache attack gunship in full silent stealth mode, that had just popped up unnoticed from behind the terraced houses and rattled off a few pictures! Mind you, knowing my luck, they would probably have pressed the wrong buttons and we would have all died in a hail of bullets and air to ground missile carnage....and the framed photos wouldn't have been £15 would they!

Looks like my conversations/incessant waffle resulted in the potential sale of a Scangauge and the fitting of a radiator air blocking sheet.

I now need to change all of my interior trim to the light cream colour found in Citrus smoothies car so I can then paint the outside in the nice Champagne colour that I have just seen on a prototype Range Rover. I will of course need the cream leather as well, but that can be arranged Then we are cooking on gas.
