Good idea with this and i'm in in principal - I need to get the battery fixed first though (This event could be agood catalyst for me to get my backside in gear to actually sort it...)
I'll keep an eye on the thread, let me know when there is a clearer idea of dates.
Cheers,
o

Just a thought and also a bit of a tempter to get folk to come along. How about I supply a 1:43 Die-Cast Model (boxed)of the Mk1 Insight in Citrus Yellow as a prize on the day?
The prize could be for the best MPG on the trip to the show, or cleanest car on the day etc........
I have a red Ebbro boxed model as well! If anyone has a silver one, then I would be happy to swop etc...
I will give Insight Owners until the end of January to respond before taking next steps, but it looks as though we have about 12 attendees so far.

Hi Citrus, I have a silver one, but you can go whistle as they do not make silver ones so I had to take a red one apart and get it sprayed myself! My "sponsor" aka my employer, has kindly installed half a dozen spray booths in the next room, and by an amazing stroke of luck there is a paint making machine that knows exactly how to make Honda colours!! The hardest part was getting the decal department to make a miniscule "H" for the bonnet, and a set of tiny weenie number plates.
I can't tell you how I know this, but if you have a go yourself, make sure the wing mirror glass does not ping off as you try to remove it! It is a right job fabricating new ones........
I will bring mine and put it on the dash. When you spot it, and if you bring yours, I will take it to work and have it re-sprayed for you......once you have bought me a pint or two, and if required I could respray "Fatlads" prize car to the colour the winner requires .....but let's hope someone with a Citrus one wins!!

Carlos, I like the T-shirts idea, are you able to draft & post a design you had in mind? I have got a photo somewhere of the back of my old Insight that had vinyl lettering saying: "My car sips petrol, yours sucks!"
It is now 1st of February and everyone that could have replied to the PM's and e-mails is likely to have by now. We currently have 14 attendees (not bad), they are:
The Citrus Smoothie / Christian
Retepsnikrep / Peter
E27006 / Malcolm
Bluesunbeam / David
Jonnyvtec / Jonny
Mildrover / Mark
Roger Crier / Roger
Whereswally606 / Andy
Fatlad / Jay
Podster / ?
O.. / ?
Chris Ball
Carlos6633 / Carlos
Spacecadet / ?
Allowing for family emergencies and work commitments, I reckon we will have at least 10 Insights at the Owners Day. Unless anyone has any other suggestions, I will contact the Glossop Motor Show organiser this weekend. Having just looked up Glossop on a map, I am now looking forward to driving from the M1 across the Peak District on the A57, also known as Snake Road!
Cheers, Christian

I have spoken to the organiser of the Glossop Motor Show today and he is happy for us to join in. Each car attending needs an entry pass / plaque and the organiser requires each vehicle's registration number to do this. I am happy to collate these and send off the booking form (with a £3 fee for each car). It probably makes sense not to publish registration numbers, so please PM me with yours by Friday 25 February. If I haven't received a PM by the 18th I will send out a reminder to those that might not have read this. Thanks. Still looking forward to warmer weather and a drive across the Peak district!
