I would be interested in a 2012 day as long as I can get away from designing the rocket car for a few days.

Richard - great idea on the BBQ, picking up tyres & hill driving. I would be up for that and would be happy to contribute to the BBQ supplies. I normally organise the UK Insight Owners Days but would be happy to take a back seat on this one, as there may be a change in my personal circumstances soon.

P.S. Mark - they must let you have some leave, even if it is a rocket car!

Cheers
Christian

Default Uk owners meet 2012

I attended Glossop last year, and would prefer another two day weekend event in the UK.

I think the practicalities of a group of owners all being able to agree to the same week for a continental tour may not be workable.

Thing to do at a UK event:

We have an undercover workshop as at Glossop to install circuitry (or even betterbatteries).

We have a mass drive of say 100 miles over an interesting route.

We meet the public at a show.

We all have a meal together

Okay guys, we had 15 cars show up in Phoenix today for a great get together with all of our fellow Insight owners! We tried to set the bar high so lets see how many cars you can get together on the other side of the pond! Hmmm, to bad I can't drive to the UK or I'd think about attending. I posted pictures on the thread:

Default UK Owners Meet 2012

I attended Glossop. It was interesting and enjoyable. Count me in for 2012. I don't mind where or duration of the event. A meal, mass drive and presentations sound good.

Regards

Rod

I think we should at least try to get a date into the diary. I work 23 weekends of the year so If I am going to get someone to swap my days I need to give notice....

Anyone else want to add some ideas?

Richard

I can make the Glossop car show which is on Sat 19th May this year. The rest of the summer looks pretty dire for me as Police leave is very restricted with the Olympics in town. We are sending quite a lot of officers down to the Met and have to backfill so if it's not Glossop I'm may be pretty stuffed. I can't make anything from mid June to mid August.

I'm happy to do the Friday night curry thing and overnight stay then the show and possibly a second night stay and drive on the Sunday with lunch/bacon buttie etc if I can get that day off.

I'm not going to do the IMAC&C install thing this year but will tinker with cars & software updates for those with OBDIIC&C IMAC&C etc while there.

I could make the Glossop show, I'd be interested in Friday food, followed by overnight saturday too.

Default Glossop 2012 - Yes please

Thats it then, Glossop for me too.

We know the venue, the organisers know about us from 2011, fairly central to most owners, last year just missed the 100 mpg goal, must do better this time.

Someone mentioned hills! You cannot do better than the Woodhead Road, leaving Glossop towards Sheffield.
