This is just a place holder at present for ideas for the 2012 event and to facilitate discussion of the format etc.
I have used the same title as Christian used for the 2011 event to keep it consistent, but of course cars from Ireland and Europe are welcome.
I'm not offering to organise the 2012 event, i'm just posting this to promote discussion.
Glossop was great and I have no objection to doing that again just as it was.
However to be a bit more daring how about a 3-7 day trip to Northern France, Normandy etc, in May taking in a few battlefield sites, other historic places, vineyards etc, staying as a group in the Campinale Hotels and enjoying the open uncluttered roads and gently rolling countryside of Northern France, ideal for our cars and high mpg! Perhaps some European owners might tag along as well? Over in convoy via tunnel or cheap ferry.
I greatly enjoyed Glossop.
It was good to put faces to User Names.
It would be good to do something in 2012 and I don't mind too much what.

I like the Land End to John O Groats idea. A few of us could do the whole journey, whilst those who are time limited could meet up and join in for a day or two.

to help organise the event and just to aid my dave gorman style challenge i set myself ive done a bit of updating on the fly of the uk owners. Love these meets as it reduces my MPI thats miles per insight. Rufio my insight is still acting like he doesnt own a proper ima, thank god/peter/mike for the mima kit.
hope you are all well and if ive got the time id be up for a drive to the continent. vive la insight.
Regards Andy

Just posted an offer in the RE92 thread to stage UK delivery at a 40ft Shipping container I have as a lockup.
So as many of the UK owners will be looking to collect tyres.......
Perhaps we could tie this up with the 2012 UK insight Owners Day? Collecting our new shoes on the final day? I can provide some fantastic driving routes, with massive climbs and decents to exersice your batteries in some great scenery around North Wales/Snowdon/Bala/etc.
I would also be up for hosting a BBQ on the weekend. We can do this at my home or I have an office with car park near the lockup, we have a bit of grass round the back, toilets, meeting room (for anyone brave enough to give a presentation/training perhaps on IMAC&C or ODBIIC&C pointing no fingers Peter).
Just another option...
Richard
