Default 2013 Mid-Atl. Date Set

OK, the date is set. I reserved shelter #2 at Gambrill State Park near Frederick, MD for May 18th. This just insures that we have a desirable date for a one day event, the format of which is completely open for discussion

I personally believe that we should make an effort to reach out to Insight 2 folks in a more deliberate way than last year. Their cars are also interesting and they share most of the same interests and obsessions that the Gen 1 folks do.

May is generally an excellent month in the Mid-Atlantic area. If we are lucky and are good boys and girls, we should have moderate temperatures and no rain, but just in case, I remind everyone that the shelter is covered.

In addition to "bumping" this thread from time to time, I will shortly send the date announcement to the 20 plus folks who are on the Mid-Atlantic e-mail list that I have built. As always, word of mouth and e-mail to reach potentially new members, or those who have dropped through the cracks would be helpful contributions.

So, let the discussion begin. BTW, the cookout was a popular item

I'm interested in going again this year in May, even though it was a long ride from CT. This time, I will bring my other car, 2010 Honda Insight EX.

For those of you interested in the park info see the following link. It includes address, Lat/Long, park info, map, and reservation link for cabins or camp sites.
Maryland Department of Natural Resources - Maryland Park Service

This is a small park, so if you want to make reservations, ACT FAST.
Campground Details - GAMBRILL STATE PARK, MD - ReserveAmerica

Frederick is a nice town with lots to do. Check out downtown's "Shab Row", the restaurants, cafe, pubs, a couple of theaters, small railroad museum etc. For the history (esp Civil War) buff, there are TONS to see and do. More info at: Home - Official Tourism Website of Frederick County

Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, DC, Baltimore etc are all within a 30-40 minutes away. 60 minutes in Leanburn mode.

Only 1/2 gallon away in Leanburn, and 100MPG all the way.

So, come, bring the wife and kids in the Gen2 and make a week of it!

Don't have my I1 anymore, but I do have an HCH1 with Peter's OBDIIC&C and IMAC&C (MIMA) in it.

Default Gen2 Insights Welcome

I wanted to extend a special invitation to our Insight Gen2 folks to the Mid-Atlantic Insight Meetup on May 18 at Gambrill State Park near Frederick Maryland. Last year was lots of fun and lots of new friends made. You can read the details above in this thread, and of course it is all still hightly flexible, except for the date. So please accept my sincere invitation and mark your calendar!

Yeah, Id like to see the hch too with the lifepo4 upgrade and associated circuits. I found out I got like 64 20 amp lifepo4 batteries in my engine kit, so its an idea to think about.
