Oh, wow. Good to know there's a place not too far away that knows what we need. I drove my car off the impound lot (boy, were they mad) and took her home. I got her to Turner Collision which is one of the best bang & dent places in this awful town; the estimator previously worked for a Honda dealer and said he'd worked on 3 or 4 Insights. And pronounced $6-7k in damage. Ouch. I'm beside myself. I love this car so much...

Thanks so much for the referral and your kind thoughts. The car is a tank. The aluminum block behind the bumper bent in the middle and disconnected from the frame on the right side but it saved our lives for sure.

Now for my sad Part 2:

I love this car and intended to keep it forever... I am afraid my insurance will total it and if I can get it back on the road without an R title I will be happy.

My problem is that I don't know a trustworthy collision place for the car including Bobby Rahal who I bought the car from... Do you know anyone who you would trust to do the repairs on my dear Insight in our neck of the woods?

    Just wondering,

Hi! I saw you around the boards when I was trying to figure my way past my 1447 code September a year ago and meant to introduce myself. I'm Tracey in Harrisburg and have (had?) a 2001 silver CVT with 137,200 miles until I was rear ended on I-83 by a massive pick-up at about 80 mph yesterday. It happened at 2pm which, on a Saturday in Harrisburg, is past when they roll up the sidewalks. While I went to the ER to be checked out, the state police let the poor car (which never shut off and let me drive her back into the drivers lane from being pushed into the passing lane and onto the berm and me and my passenger only have torqued backs)... be towed to a lot across the river that doesn't open until 8 tomorrow morning.

If it's driveable, I'm seriously considering taking the car myself, getting it repaired and suing the drunk driver who did this for medical and repairs...

Now I have to send you a second email as this is going long... I apologize....
