Never mind I figured it out. Car starts, but I need to put everything back before taking on a test drive. Will put it together tomorrow morning, mosquitoes are coming out like crazy now.

Hi Stueveo; metro-mpg over in eco-modder very kindly offered to open a line on the sprite and I said OK.

That is the link. I will try to answer any questions. It was almost 40 years ago.

This was a "bug eye"1960 with an 850cc engine. It turned close to 3000 at 60 mph and gave 33mpg on average. During my 2 week vacations I would make changes. This was the early 70's. The final version used a 1600 cc pinto engine and tx, followed by a reversed Buick transmission, giving a 1.5 overdrive and a 2.4 overdrive. In top gear, you had to downshift with any incline (like a 1970's 18 wheeler). My consistant mileage @ Nixons 55mph limit and 110 miles per day was 65 MPG. I had one more mod, a belly pan to do when my wife quit her job and we moved to Manhattan Ks. There was no longer a need for the sprite. and I had a student dismantle it so no one would get killed. I gave him the chassis for destroying the body. He had a midget and could use the parts. Thanks for your intrest. I am 87 now and love my 2000 Insight MT.
