I saw tiny bubbles when I was following the coolant bleeding procedure. Large bubbles would indicate trapped air in the coolant system. Tiny bubbles are likely due to dissolved air being driven from the coolant as it heats up. These bubbles would not be driven from the coolant if it were under the normal pressure of the cooling system (i.e., in a closed cooling system), so this doesn't indicate trapped air that needs to be bled. Seeing only tiny bubbles, I concluded that my cooling system did not contain trapped air, so I stopped the bleeding procedure. I've had no overheating problems since.
