My biggest problem was finding out how to route the wire from the inside of the car to the outside. I basically gave up, I didnt feel like taking out all the interior trim panels of the luggage lid. Its ok, Im fine with not having the camera.
You have to take the interior trim panels to install it. The installer took lots of that stuff apart in my car and did it in record time. I stepped away for a few minutes and by the time I walked back, he had it all done. That's why I paid somebody who does this for a living.
Ill pass for now. The car has some bad luck when it comes to other people working on it.
THe tint place dented my fender and denied it, and left a big giant hair in one of the windows. I didnt feel like going back to that place, so I took it to another place to fix it, and they fixed the window tint, but in the process broke an interior trim piece.
So for now, I dont want anyone touching the car. I can live with out a back up camera, and since it only cost me $20, its no biggie.
Maybe later on i will get adventurous. LOL
PS are you in the sfl area, if so where did you take it to get done, and how much did they charge?

Can't say I blame you. I really don't like people messing with my car.
Just don't go to Senior Stereo. I've heard of people complaining about that place. There's another place on Bird Road that I would probably not go to either. Try Autotronics.
how much did the installer charge you for everything? and the installer made the box right? im interested now... i didnt wanna add a sub and amp cuz the trunk is small enough, but now i want to put it where the spare is...

$750 including the installation of the radio, front speakers, amp rack and subwoofer enclosure. The installer's name is Nelson. Ask for him to do it since he has all of the experience working with these cars. He has over 20 years experience of building subwoofer enclosures.
haha i dont live in florida... was just wondering an estimate. oh and whered you get those black seat covers?
I don't have seat covers. My seats look like that from the factory. They look almost black, but they are actually dark blue. Out of all of the cars that the dealer had, that was the only one that had that color interior.
Must say a very clean install. QQ for you. I have a 2011 EX and I was looking to install my AMP And Sub with an aftermarket radio. So my question is, were you able to hook up your after market radio to work with the steering wheel controls, and USB interface under the armrest. Please forgive me if this issue has been addressed elsewhere in this forum. I searched for a while and couldnt quite find what I am looking for. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.
I think he has left the site and traded his Insight. Incase he doesnt post I do not believe he ever got the antenna adapter to use fm or am as that was the last to come out for our cars. He did not have an adapter for the steering wheel controls, but there is a diy on the fit forums on how to do it. I do not believe he used the oem adapter for usb. If I recall correctly he just listened to pre recorded music, then the head unit quit working, bummer.

DAMN, you have a good memory. You must have made straight A's in school with a memory like that. Yeah, I traded the car in, reluctantly. I never did get the adapter. And to get access to the battery would require the removal of all of that stuff. The only reason I installed all that stuff is because I had it left over from another car. If I had to start fresh with a brand new car, I would not actively go out and try to do it all again. Not only was it expensive, but it's a major hassle. Then the car gets rattles and noises all over. I just wish I had done something like this in a CR-V or a more practical vehicle for my needs.
